I need to move to Sweet Water like yesterday.....*wink*

AWESOME!!!
We were introduced to Candace in the first book of the Wylde Bears trilogy and to say I was happy to read her story would be an understatement.
Candace a wolf shifter is quiet and reserved. She has been hurt and the betrayal ran deep but she has since moved on and likes her life the way it is even if she is lonely. Candace would rather face loneliness than to put her heart on the line just to have it broken again.
Trace Dakota is the polar opposite (no pun intended) of Candace. He is a big, bad, polar bear shifter who owns a bar and grille. He likes his women fast and easy with no strings attached. That is until he meets his mate Candace. Let the games begin.......

Hot smexy lovin, drama, humor, romance and lots of love. Who knew a polar bear shifter like Trace could be so romantic....*sigh* He is a bad ass ladies but with a soft side that comes with a heart of gold. No wonder Candace is hooked.
Loved this story and I would highly recommend this series, this author to any and all who ask. Jenika Snow does NOT disappoint!!!

sexy shifter series!

I had been waiting for this book for such a long time!! Yummy smexy dirty talkin bear!!!! This book has hands down the hottest mate meeting I have read in a long time!! I mean, damn girl, you will get naughty shivers!!

Trace is scrumptious, he is possessive, lewd and wickedly delightful! Once he scent his mate he is all in, even though he had a trust issues due to his past. Yup, I am totally in lust!

Candace is a great girl, she isn't meek or a pushover. She could have used a touch more sass, but is easily loveable.

The steam factor is off the charts!!! I lived Trace's naughty mouth, heck I would have loved even more!! I am a sucker for a dirty talker!! There is some serious smexy action in the kitchen and a little stripper pole fun. Oh la, this is a book to read while in the cold shower!!

The story here is mostly all about the couple, not much of an outside plotline. Not a complaint just an observation. Sometimes ya don't need extras, the romance is enough to carry you through.

The mixed narrative really helps you understand where each character is coming from. It is really easy to see the change in POV and never gets confusing.

The other great thing about this series is getting to catch up with old friends from the Wylde Bears series. This time we catch up with Ary and Charlie, they are so cute!!

I am loving this series and can not wait for more. Maverick, Liam and Melissa are all still single!!

Opposites attract

He's big, he's bad, and he's dirty, which is exactly opposite of what wolf shifter Candace Jace wants in a mate. Candace is borderline OCD and the victim of a cheating ex, she now has her life in a some sort of order and everything about bear shifter Trace Dakota off sets her carefully controlled world.

Owner of a bar, Trace had not expected to meet his mate at this point. A bad marriage and left Trace with strict rules when it came to women, one night stands and that is it. He knows his mate is Candace and even though it is difficult for his bear, he is taking his time to woo her as much as a Harley riding bad boy can.

Very fun read, I liked that they are polar opposites and Trace is pure alpha. You can easily understand Candace's reluctance as Trace is very vocal about his wants an needs. Look forward to more in this series.

Anatomy, History and a Memoir

The book is mainly about the author Bill Hayes, who takes a piggyback ride on the biography of two of the greatest contributors to our knowledge of human anatomy, namely Henry Gray and Henry Vandyke Carter.

The core of the book is the story of how the famous “Gray’s Anatomy” book was created by two men of different and divergent personalities. Little is known about the life of Henry Gray in contrast to his collaborator and the book’s illustrator, H. V. Carter. The intensely private Gray died at the early age of 29 years. Carter lived a full life and much is known, from his letters and diaries, about his career (mostly in the shadow of Gray’s fame), his struggle with loneliness and depression, his spiritual foundation, medical contributions, his sojourn in India and personal scandal. This is well documented in a compelling narrative in this book.

The author’s description of modern methods of teaching Anatomy, with less hands-on dissection by students, more prosection (by instructors) and the use of digital simulations is spot on; but is it the best approach? As a retired surgeon and Professor of Anatomy, I still believe that the hands-on technique allows for the tactile and direct visual feedback that is best for skill memory.

The subject is well researched but book is primarily aimed at lay readers. Medical professionals would easily spot a few blaring errors, that would have been corrected, had Mr. Hayes availed himself the services of a trained anatomist.

The author’s frequent insertions about his personal experience in anatomy class and contemplations about his sexual history are a nuisance and annoying distractions from what could have otherwise been an interesting read. One has to sift through much personal memoir material to find kernels of interesting historical value.
By the end of the book the reader knows first and foremost that the author is gay (who cares? what does that have to do with the subject?), that Hayes metamorphoses into a gifted anatomist who ends up assessing and teaching his fellow students after he attends only a few classes in anatomy, and that he is also a psychoanalyst on the side.

The reader, interested in medical history, should seek “The Greatest Gift to Mankind” by Roy Porter.
“Gray’s Anatomy: Descriptive and Surgical”, first published in 1858, remains as the definitive standard textbook and is now in its 39th edition, but the classic tomes by Daniel J. Cunningham or by Leo Testut are just as good references. For an atlas in anatomy, the drawings by Frank Netter are exceptional, but nothing compares to the magnificent, exquisitely detailed, illustrations of Pernkof's Atlas.

Gray's Anatomy, history of its creation

Henry Gray wrote and Henry VD Carter illustrated the first edition of the now famous Gray's Anatomy. The author traces the personal history of both author and illustrator, but the data for Gray are most scant, and for Carter not that interesting. The author talks much to much about himself, and his own experiences studying human anatomy.
As somebody who has dissected hundreds of human cadavers, and read and re-read anatomical treatises, such as Testut's, and also Gray, this book is less than than illuminating. I found more information by reading Wikipedia on both Henry's, Gray and Carter.

Norwegian physician and specialist in clinical pharmacology Berit Nordstrand is devoted to studying the relationship between food and health. More than twenty years ago, when a young mother and recent medical school graduate, Berit faced numerous health challenges with her young son including epilepsy and ADHD and sought out ways to use food to help her son. Now, her son Petter is doing great, and Berit shares her results with the world on how the right food can bolster health and help us enjoy life to the fullest. Easy to Implement Habits to Health

I happened to see the book written up in The Times & Sunday Times and became intrigued just reading the short article and wanted more. I've read many diet books, but this one came along at just the right time and is encouraging and simple. Most diet books become so bogged down in the weeds of explaining every detail of the way diets work that I always feel that I need to be either a clinician or an insomniac to keep reading. Dr. Nordstrand sets out 12 goals over a 12 week period and focuses on developing healthy habits. I have spent a year listening to books about the power of habit and just didn't know where to start so finding this book at this time was a godsend.

I read the whole book in one sitting and have already incorporated several of the weekly habits in my daily routine the first week being cutting out sugars, including artificial sweeteners... something I have wanted to do for years. I'm 6 days into the first week, have lost a healthy 2 pounds and am convinced that this program will save my health as I had been creeping toward Metabolic Syndrome and diabetes and, without a mindful approach to eating, my health was on a downward trajectory.

The author is an inspiration... a doctor in her 50s with 6 children who looks 30. If someone is looking for a transforming program, written in an easy to follow style and aimed at a lifetime of health, look no further.
