J. GREGORY DEES is Adjunct Professor of Social Entrepreneurship and Nonprofit Management at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and Entrepreneur-in-Residence with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Prior to coming to Duke, he served as the Miriam and Peter Haas Centennial Professor in Public Service at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business where he was the founding codirector of the new Center for Social Innovation.

Grant Jeffrey - Solid, Dependable Analysis

Excellent book with current information.

The book reviews the history of the Jewish people of how God clearly chose the line of Isaac, not Ishmael in His plan to evangelize the world. The Jewish right to the Promised Land is also reviewed.

Of particular interest is Chapter 3 in which Jeffrey reviews the Koran and how Koranic interpretations of Jesus and his return are not really that far off base. If only the Muslims understood their own book !!

Chapter 5 is also intriguing in which Jeffrey makes the case that the current World War with Islam actually started 1,300 years ago. When Islam previously fought against Europe, it had to be forcibly pushed back into the Middle East. Jeffrey speculates that Islam will need to pushed back again.

The author then analyzes the War on Terror, Osama Bin Laden, and argues that that Al Queda and Saddam were connected. He also shows evidence that the Iraq weapons of mass destruction were not found in Iraq by Hans Blix and his team of Inspector Clouseaus because Saddam moved the goodies to Syria well before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

Towards the end of the book, Jeffrey postulates that the "Gog/Magog" invasion of Ezekiel Chapters 38-39 could very well spell the end of Radical Islam when a Muslim alliance with Russia invades Israel. Many good bible prophecy pundits argue about the timing of when this invasion will occur. Jeffrey makes the case that the destruction of the Russian/Muslim force in the Middle East will set the scene for the rise of the AntiChrist and the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount immediately to the north of the Dome of the Rock.

The only knock on the book is that the chapter on the future Jewish temple could have had some diagrams of what he was dicussing in the text.

Jeffrey ends the book with a chapter of hope of how Jesus will return to the Earth and literally sit and rule on David's Throne for 1,000 years. At that point, Israel and her neighbors will finally be at peace. That's the promise that all of us must carry as we watch CNN and FoxNews about the turmoil in the Middle East. Israel will never be destroyed and God's promises to Abraham in Genesis will finally find their complete fulfillment in a time yet future.

Historical and Prophetic

THE NEXT WORLD WAR is a study of the elements which have brought us to the brink of a world war in light of Biblical scriptures which have foretold it and the Koran which has propelled it.

Grant Jeffrey has emerged as one of the leading researchers of the Last Days. This book is no exception. He carefully and thoroughly details the culture, traditions, and dogma of Islam. Its teachings and the beliefs of those who practice it set them on a collision course with Judeo/Christian believers; perhaps inevitably.

Jeffrey writes, "The global war being waged by Islamic terrorists is not a conventional battle over territory or disputed national borders. It's not a war with troops in uniform and easily identifiable fronts and battle lines... It's a well-armed and carefully planned battle that will settle for nothing less than the overthrow of all non-Islamic governments and societies around the world."

I learned more about Islam and its adherents as well as the preparations for the "final days" in Israel. The historical student will have to wade through most of the book to get to the Bible prophecies being fulfilled and conditions in Israel which are contained in the last forty pages.

Very informative & well detailed!

Mr. Jeffrey dispenses supportive information to his opinion of the second coming of Jesus Christ!

Not only did he displayed supportive information on the second coming, but he thoroughly expelled the most forgotten details which occured in 2002 and beyond (for example, The Spetznaz truck (convoys) leaving Iraq, heading towards Syria and Iran; the disclosure of photos of the Spetznaz convoys (Russian-owned Spetznaz, that is) from the satellite imagery; reports supporting the cover up of nondisclosure removal of the missing WMD in these Spetznaz trucks by Bush and his CIA; contacts between Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden in AFRICA in the 90's, etc.).

This book discloses missing facts and is an eye opener.

I truly believe, we are living those last days of age and the second coming is near.

The lever action repeating rifles produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company are easily the most famous and recognizable firearms in American history. For nearly 140 years, they have been intimately connected with American hunters, first in the opening of the West, and after the close of the frontier, have continued to hold the position of America's most popular hunting rifle.

The story of the Winchester rifle begins with the Model 1866 and its famous predecessor, the Model 1873. They were the first practical repeating long arms that did not require the strength of a weight-lifter to carry them about. A long tube under the barrel held the cartridges which were admitted to the breech by moving a lever down and up. This both pushed the cartridge into the chamber and cocked the hammer. The shooter then aimed and pulled the trigger. Working the lever again ejected the spent case and placed another cartridge in the chamber for a fast follow-up shot.

As with any other mechanical contrivance manufactured over long periods, changes and improvements were made to the Winchester rifles in the form of new parts. A M1873 rifle made in 1878 was not the same as a M1873 made in 1888 although to the untrained eye they may look the same. A collector of Winchester lever action repeating rifles and carbines wants to be assured that his Model 1873 is absolutely correct as the day it was manufactured. These are valuable artifacts of American history and are eagerly sought. Enough wrong parts can reduce the value of a particular Winchester by fifty percent or more.

Arthur Pirkle's book provides collectors with the information needed to examine their Model 1866, 1873 or 1876 rifles and carbines and determine if each part is correct. The book also tells how to determine if the firearm has been refinished (reblued) which can also drastically reduce its value. Each part is described fully including markings and dimensions, any changes to that part are also described and everything is related to serial number ranges. Special appendixes describe special and valuable variations of the three rifles including those manufactured for the Canadian Northwest Mounted Police and special light and heavyweight hunting rifles. Assembly/Disassembly and cleaning information is given as is information on the "do's and don't's" of restoration. Updated and correct serial number lists are included. Special line drawings (for clarity) show all major and most minor parts including the wide variety of front and rear sights.

We at North Cape Publications have endeavored to make it as useful a series as possible. Each model is examined on a part-by-part basis. All changes to any part are linked to a serial number range at which that change was made. Armed with this information, the collector can determine very quickly whether or not the Winchester model is in examining is "correct as manufactured" or if incorrect parts have been added. The series also provides full details on markings and wood and metal finishes. Extensive appendices are included with each book in the series to provide specific information about rare or special models.

The books in this series from North Cape publications are very handy for the serious person who want facts on particular firearms. They are not colorful, coffee table books but they are more like small size reference books on particular guns. These small size books are easy to carry with you to gun shows , etc. If you are looking to buy or have the model that is featured in a North Cape Publication these books are a wealth of info on that particular brand or model. They're not for everyone but if you're serious about a particular brand & model these books are a wealth of info & also there's a little bit of history included on those particular firearms that are titled on the front cover. I am happy with this book.

A great basic reference book for Pure Mathematics

This was a core text for many British A-Level Mathematics students. It is a well written and easy to follow text book. The major flaw in an otherwise super text is that it has several typos and the occasional incorrect answer to self-test questions. These errors can hinder a student's understanding of a concept.

However, over a decade and a half after completing my A-level studies I still refer to this text when helping students grasp pure math concepts.

Excelent introduction and companion text

This text was a great asset coming out of high-school level maths and entering into college-level calculus. It covers necessary previous topics briefly and efficiently, providing an excellent reference in case you forget something or skipped it in your previous studies. The examples are useful and to the point; sections are brief and incredibly effective. This book has a more complete overview of algebra, trig, and calculus than my entire high-school education. It's very easy to look up a subject and quickly understand it, which is essential when working through multi-faceted problems later. There are several problems in the text which have inaccurate solutions, but that's fairly minor for the vast resource this book has been to me. This was my father's A-level book (in England) and I'm proud to say that it's now finding use once again.

Most college texts are $200. For $1? Buy it! I can't recommend it enough.

It's Great for High School!

Well, A-level is for High School, not really for college level. I agree with Adel Douba that the book doesn't point out necessary information, but most of the college text books in US never mention what you have pointed out! Hey, for high school, it is a pretty good book, don't you agree? You don't see any high school book mentions anything about log(-8)[base -2] has no meaning, neither any of them mentions the unequality of a with 1. This is for college level!!! Again, A-level is just for Grade 9-12 in most of the other countries.

Eustace Mullins is a WORLD HERO. Get ALL HIS WORKS FREE at his website eusticemullins DOT us. Also his nephew is selling his works on ebay FOR MUCH MUCH LESS THAN AMAZON PIRATES. His other major works, The World Order and Secrets of the Federal Reserve are a MUST for the NON-Programmed or Deluded who are interested in REAL HISTORY, not bankster satanic history that's spoon fed to us throughout our lives. I can't recommend Eustace Mullins works more.

Extremely significant

This work has been a profound influence on my own work. Written as a continuation of Mullins' research on the Federal Reserve system, commissioned by Ezra Pound, this delves into the Rothschild World system behind World affairs:

Chapter 1 focuses on the Rothschilds, the City of London, and the expansion of the power structures these people set up, which form the basis of the present World Order.

Chapter 2 shows how Soviet communism was in reality an extension of international finance capitalism.

Chapter 3 shows how World War II was a managed conflict.

Chapter 4 shows how the American aristocracy was/is an extension of the Rothschild empire.

Chapter 5 delves into the CIA and British intelligence, and it's ties to the power structures already established.

Chapter 6 looks into the political influence of the Bechtel corporation.

Chapter 7 looks into the network of control established by various interlocking tax-exempt foundations.

Chapter 8 delves into a broad, historical overview of this hegemony of parasitism.

My only problem with Eustace Mullins is that he made mistakes. However, he did transmit to the American people Ezra Pound's knowledge of the history of the parasitic class and their techniques of control. Pound unfortunately flirted with bigotry, but he did not make the kind of mistakes Mullins did, and was absolutely correct on the subject of international finance.

About the Author

Charles Marsh is the Oscar Stauffer Professor of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. His primary areas of research involve public relations, ethics and classical rhetoric.

David W. Guth is associate professor at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, University of Kansas. His areas of special research interest are crisis communication, political communication and public relations history.

Bonnie Poovey Short, founder and president of Short Solutions, an award-winning editorial and creative services firm that specializes in the health care field, also teaches at the university-level and serves as communications coordinator for a school district.

Love this book!!

I got the Kindle version of this book. The ONLY reason why I would hesitate on giving this 5 stars is, it is difficult to use in the classroom setting because the Kindle version does not include page numbers, however it is not difficult by any means to navigate this book as long as you know the chapter/section you should be studying from.

The book is a very simple structure to read: It gives an overview, the format and examples for every type of media writing included (everything from news releases to pitches to media kits). This book includes several graphics for examples of the different types of writing and formatting of documents and types of media which makes it that much simpler to understand.

I would say, if navigating books on your Kindle is easy for you, buy the Kindle version as it is much cheaper and instant gratification. If you have trouble with eBooks, the print format is set up the exact same way as the Kindle version book, so there is no difference aside from the print version has page numbers and the print version can be more expensive. However, it seems the Kindle version is now the same price as the print version, as I paid $32 for my Kindle version in Jan 2012 for this book, and it is now $82.50 in March 2012.

One side note: The two previous editions of this book are exactly the same as this one aside from one chapter one social media, so if money is an issue, I'd say buy used or an older version.

Go-To Source for Public Relations Writing!

A lot of the books that I have to buy for my classes feel like they say the same basic things. Most of what I feel I've learned in the past has come from lectures, not the books, so I've had no problem trading in the books at the end of the semester.

This book is a God send, though. It is everything that Ad/PR students and professionals need. It talks you through essentially every kind of material you could ever need to write. They provide completed examples as reference and make it actually impossible to mess up by talking you through each step and section.

This book is undoubtedly a fantastic reference that I would recommend to anyone interested in Ad/PR. It is definitely not just a textbook - it's a lifesaver!

This is a great book, and I give it two thumbs up that it's available on Kindle. My only complaint to the kindle version is it does not provide the page numbers. I was difficult when the professor and the book itself referenced page numbers, there was no way of knowing where to go. I ended up renting the hard copy because of the page number issue in order to keep up =(. If the e-book/Kindle version contained the page numbers it would be perfect.
